Whitehall $4,000 A traditionally built 15’ classic rowing craft, these boats are carvel planked (smooth skinned) with white cedar planking over white oak steam bent frames. The interior is a combination of varnished mahogany thwarts and transom complementing the oil finished burden boards and inside face of the planking.
Buzzards Bay14 (SOLD) $27, 500 This is a cold molded (wood/West System epoxy) new construction of L. Francis Herreshoff’s beautiful 17’6” daysailer. It drafts only 30”, yet has the stability and seakeeping ability of a much larger yacht. This is a redesign of his father Nathaniel Herreshoff’s venerable Herreshoff 12½, resulting in a slightly larger boat with daysailing capability for six adults. This boat is offered as a complete package with new sails and bronze blocks from J.M. Reineck. It also includes a brand new galvanized Triad float on trailer with hydraulic surge brakes and extendable tongue for ramp launching. This top of the line trailer enables the owner to not only launch and retrieve the vessel as a trailered daysailer, but also save on winter storage and launching fees if the boat is used off a mooring or marina slip.
Sabrina $60,000 One of Aage Nielsen’s classic designs from his Sparkman & Stephens years, Sabrina was the Save A Classic in Woodenboat Magazine in September of ’07. At 24’ LOA with a draft of only 2’11″ due to her combination of lead keel and centerboard, she is an extremely capable shoal draft cruiser for two. She is currently undergoing a complete restoration and diesel repowering. We are presently seeking her future owner to fund the remaining restoration and guide us in preferences for interior appointments.
Emily $60,000 Built to the Knarr class design, Emily is constructed in Mahogany and bright finished above the waterline. At 30’ LOA with long overhangs fore and aft and a long graceful sheer, she is a stunning sight on the water. Her deep cast iron keel makes her an exceptional performer upwind, and very stable for her extremely sleek shape. Emily is also awaiting a new owner to shepherd her through the redecking and restoration she requires.
Half Hull Models $300-$600 Inspired and based on traditional designs from Herreshoff, Nielsen, Sparkman & Stephens, Fife, Crowninshield, and many other great yacht designers, these models are available in a variety of finishes and backboard treatments. Most of the woods used in the construction of these pieces is either recovered from the construction of full sized vessels in my shop or reclaimed from damaged furniture pieces and architectural millwork from demolished buildings. In addition to my stock offerings, I am available to create commissioned works of a customer’s personal yacht for a nominal fee. Please contact me for details regarding your individual needs.
